In this beautifully written article, Shannon reflects on human-animal interactions in the early modern period demonstrating that, in many ways, they constituted less divisive and more open encounters. She reflects on language and day-to-day practices and does this through the use of Shakespeare’s plays which are looked at as both cultural and social texts. - LOURDES OROZCO
