Vol 5.2, 2000) and of The Drama Review (Vol 51, 2, 2007) respectively, focused on theatre and performance practices with animals at their core. The issues have undoubtedly become a point of reference for theatre and performance scholars who want to continue the study of animals in these contexts. They represent the beginnings of theatre and performance studies turn towards the animal and contain a variety of articles focusing on ethics, representation, acting/non-acting, amongst other topics. Most of the authors contained in these special issues have continued their work on the question of the animal in theatre and performance including the editors. - LOURDES OROZCO
