Practical Ethics is the text in which Singer works out his utilitarian views about animals much more thoroughly; the 3rd edition of this book includes his most recent conclusions, including on killing animals. Recommended for a more systematic consideration of the ethical issues raised about animals if you are a utilitarian (and even if you aren’t!) - CLARE PALMER
