In this book, Nussbaum argues that animals fall into the category of beings that are owed justice, and extends her well-known capabilities approach to animal ethics. One of the most interesting parts of the argument is the claim that wild animals may often not be able to fulfill their capabilities, and that we might have to make ‘justice’ replace ‘nature’ in the wild. - CLARE PALMER
